Teaching Yoga Since: 2009

What to expect in your classes:  I believe yoga is for every “body” and strive to design classes to meet students where they are, helping them enjoy a practice with variations suitable for their individual needs. I try to offer creative and balanced sequences, combining lightness and hard work, strength & flexibility as I tap into the choreography aspect of my ballet background.  In 1998 a dear friend brought me to my first yoga class.  After that, I continued to practice Bikram Yoga 6 days a week for two years.  Since then, I have had the privilege of studying with some incredible, well-renowned teachers from many lineages including Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Universal yoga, the Ghosh lineage (Bikram) and Yin yoga to mention just a few.  In 2019, I participated in a yearlong philosophy studies course with the amazing Greg Nardi.  I have my E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and look forward to sharing my love of the practice and maybe offer a thought or idea that students can hopefully take with them off their mats as well!

Favorite Movie/Book:  This was a hard “one”.  I hardly watch any movies.  I love all the Mitch Albom books, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, Polishing the Mirror by Ram Dass, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant and for fun anything by Alice Hoffman.

Favorite Food: Probably a tie between anything pasta and truffle French fries!

Pet Peeve:  How many can I list? Hahaha!  Making the boys put the toilet seat down.  Transferring germs – had someone shake my hand once and then blow their nose and say they were sorry they had a cold…WHAT??  When people don’t write thank-you notes for a gift.  Misspelled words.

Words to live by:  “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ~Maya Angelou

Fun Fact: I have always loved being near/on the water and now I like to go fishing with my husband.
